Introduction
------------

Welcome to StartUp!

StartUp is a utility to launch an unlimited number of
programs and files in batch mode.

I've written this program because I make a backup of my
Series 5 nearly every day. I don't understand why PsiWin is
capable to close open files before a backup but unable to
reopen all of them afterwards. StartUp is implemented as a
workaround and hopefully won't be needed for this purpose in
the near future anymore ;-)

StartUp makes your EPOC32 machine work hard for you and it's
fascinating to watch. - Enjoy!

Release Information
-------------------

V2.00 Production - June, 22 1998

New features:
- Option 'Close other files...' added to the tools menu.
This option closes all open programs and files which are
not defined in the current StartUp file. This option is
also used on opening of a StartUp file instead of the
'Close all open files' feature. This option may be used
as a 'clean up' function and improves the performance
when working with several StartUp files with one or more
identical entries in each file (e.g. Macro5 or other
useful programs and files you want to be open for quick
    access).
- Programs with an open modal dialog box may be closed
now, when no additional dialogs are shown on exit.

Fixed bugs:
- None

Miscellaneous:
- Navigation speed improved slightly when the vertical
    scroll bar is not visible.
- Some GUI items and shortcuts have been renamed according
    to Psions style guide.
- StartUp is now available in German too. Both language
versions are distributed together in a single
    installation file.
- Release numbering system changed to the one Psions
Installation programs are using. This release is
therefor called V2.00 instead of V2.0.0.

Installation
------------

StartUp is distributed as a Psions .sis installation file.

To install StartUp from your 32-bit MS-Windows PC, double
click on the .sis file and follow the instructions.

To install StartUp from your EPOC32 machine, launch the .sis
file and follow the instructions.

After the installation a new icon should appear in your
extras bar.

Grap a copy of the appropriate installation program from my
web site http://salvis.com/ when your PsiWin release or your
EPOC32 machine does not support .sis files.

Upgrading
---------

Do as described under 'Installation'.

StartUp checks the version field on opening a StartUp file
and will automatically migrate the data to the new data
structure if necessary. However, it is strongly recommended
to backup your data first, just in case...

The global preferences defined in the .ini file will be set
to default values. Please use the appropriate functions to
make the necessary changes.
